What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept credit and debit card payments through Google Checkout and Paypal as well as Cheques and Postal Orders. Both Google Checkout and Paypal are market leaders in providing secure processing of online payments. Please note that you do not need to have a paypal account in order to make payment using a debit or credit card and that goods paid for by cheque or postal order will be dispatched once the funds have cleared (usually within 5 working days).
How do i determine whether i need a hard drive with an IDE/ATA/PATA or SATA interface for my laptop?
If your laptop is over 3 years old then it is probably more likely to use a hard drive that uses an IDE/ATA interface. The simplest way to diffrentiate between IDE/ATA/PATA and SATA drives is that IDE/ATA laptop drives have connector pins whereas SATA drives do not. Please check our compatibility & fitting section for further details.
How will i know if the laptop hard drive i have ordered is compatible with the laptop i'm using it with?
This can vary depending on your current hard drive and the laptop you are using. Our best advice would be to first of all determine whether your laptop uses an IDE or SATA interface(manufacturers website, google search or manual), the size in gigabytes(GB) and model of the hard drive. We stock laptop hard drives from all the major laptop hard drive manufacturers which are generally interchangeable so therefore you should have very few compatibility issues. Once i have placed an order, how long does it take to receive my order?
Orders received before noon are usually dispatched on the same day (excluding weekends). We dispatch items by Royal Mail Recorded delivery so you can under normal circumstances expect to receive your item(s) within 1-2 working days. If you have requested your item to be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery then you can in most cases expect delivery by the next working day before 1pm.
How much do you charge for delivery?
We offer free UK delivery (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales) as well as to the Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Jersey and Guernsey. If you require your item to be dispatched by Royal Mail Special Delivery then the charge is from £5-please contact us if you wish your item to be dispatched by Special delivery.
Do you dispatch items outwith the United Kingdom?
At present we are only able to dispatch items to addresses within the United Kingdom.
Do you give discounts for bulk/larger orders?
We can usually offer better pricing for bulk/larger orders however our stock changes regularly so please contact us and we will be happy to assist you with your requirements.
What happens if i suspect that the item i've bought is faulty?
Please email us your order number, item(s) purchased and issues you are experiencing to help@laptopdrivestore.com and we will do our utmost to assist you.
What if i place an order but change my mind?
In line with the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR) you may cancel or return an item for a refund within 7 days of receiving your item(s). You will be responsible for postage costs for returning items back to us. We will process refunds (less carriage costs) once the item has arrived back with us.
What warranty do you offer on your products?
New products come with a one year warranty whilst refurbished items products unless otherwise stated, come with a 30 day warranty.
